Bone Plates are internal splints that hold the broken fragments of bone together. It is a type of internal fixation that is attached to the bone with screws. Plates are made of surgical grade metal (stainless steel or titanium). After treatment, plates can be removed with a surgical procedure or they can remain in place. Doctors discuss the pros and cons about removing plates with each patient.

A Bone Nail is a surgical rod inserted into the intramedullary canal to act as an immobilization device to hold the two ends of a fractured long bone in position. These metal rods forced into medullary cavity of long, weight-bearing bones (e.g. femur, tibia), which allows ambulation within weeks rather than months. Bone Nails have a cloverleaf appearance on cross-section and are made of Stainless Steel and Titanium, which has a lower rate of mechanical failure & improved bio-compatibility.
Spinal Implants
Spinal implants are devices used to relieve back pain and manage disorders related to the spine. The spinal column, also known as the vertebrae, is comprised of 33 bones that enable the body to stand upright, sit and bend. The vertebrae has five sections: cervical, thoracic, lumbar, sacrum, coccyx. Each section has spinal discs to allow movement. Due to the complexities of the spine, spinal implants vary in size, shape, and functionality.
Bone Screws are made of titanium or stainless steel that are used during the surgery of fractured bones. These serve as a support for internal fixation of the bones when used with bone plates, bone nails or individually. The material of the bone screws is highly non-reactive, thus these screws do not cause any corrosive or allergic reactions inside the body. They can remain in your body for an entire life period without causing any harm to your bones or any other physical damage.
Bone Pins & Wires are the most commonly used orthopaedic implants. One of the major advantages of pins & wires is their relatively low cost and limited equipment requirements for surgical application. They are applicable to a relatively small number of fracture situations when used on their own. Pins & Wires are of varying lengths and also vary in the end construction.
External Fixators are used for fracture fixation by which pins or wires are inserted into bone percutaneously and held together when broken bone is accompanied with significant swelling, soft tissue loss or in some cases bone loss.
