FLEXIBLE NAIL

  • Flexible Intramedullary nailing is indicated for the management of disphyseal & certain metaphyseal fractures of long bone in pediatrics.

  • Complex clavicular fractures & open fractures in pediatrics.

  • Where threat of skin perforation & fracture ends.

  • Pathological fractures

  • Diaphyseal fractures of the long bones in upper extremity of adults.

  • Clavical shaft fractures in adults.

  • Flexible nail is a round elastic rod with a hockey shaped insertion end allowing easy insertion without piercing the cortex in to the medullary canal. The bio-mechanical properties of flexible nail when inserted into the metaphysic one from the lateral & one from the medial side ensures flexural stability, rotational stability, axial stability & translational stability.
